Sunflower meal is a valuable product that is obtained during the production of sunflower oil. Sunflower meal contains 30-43% crude protein, a rich set of amino acids, in particular, a high content of methionine, which has a beneficial effect on the growth and development of young animals. Compared to cake, meal contains more crude protein, but less fat – no more than 1.5%.
Meal is characterized by good protein digestibility and amino acid availability. It does not contain anti-nutritional substances, but it has an important caveat: it contains little calcium and lysine, so when these elements are included in the diet of animals, they must be additionally replenished.
Granulated meal is used in diets:
